Last Friday the world woke to news Britain’s longest-serving monarch Queen Elizabeth II had died at the age of 96.
Her Majesty’s death prompted a wave of sadness and tributes, including in the local sporting community, with a minute’s silence held across multiple sports, and condolence books becoming available for messages to the much-loved monarch.
