LIFE OF BRIAN: Southern Argus welcomes new team member

2 min read

The Southern Argus has welcomed new Advertising Sales Consultant Brian Inglis to the team.

Originally a Bordertown native, Brian’s first career was working as a printer for The Border Chronicle, before getting the mid-life itch and embarking on opening a real estate business in Kingston SE with his wife, Chris.

With the big kids leaving the nest and moving away (Adelaide and Darwin) he and his wife decided to move closer to the city and settle in Goolwa and dabble in real estate for a short time, whilst Chris found work at Bremerton Wines.

Seeking another career move in his twilight years, Brian has enthusiastically accepted the sales position with The Argus.

“I am really looking forward to getting out and about in the wonderful Alexandrina region, meeting new faces, and even reconnecting with some old faces from the Limestone Coast,” he said.

“The job offers a comparative blend of past experiences in the country newspaper medium and real estate sales.

“I love to have a newspaper on the table at home and read about all the news and events and generally everything that a community offers.

“I have found The Argus a top-quality paper and look forward to being part of its ongoing growth and assisting businesses and community groups to promote and grow through greater exposure.”

Argus Advertising Sales Manager Neil Casson expressed his excitement at having Brian onboard.

“Brian brings with him a unique skillset that ensures he will be an asset to The Argus,” he said.

“I am confident that he will be welcomed by the local business community as his prior experience as a business owner, skills and engaging personality are assets that transfer well to his new role.”

Brian and Chris have three children, Courtney, Sam and Lucy Jo and one grandchild, Ava, to eldest daughter Courtney.

“We have been involved in a lot of sport (basketball, tennis and football) and community organisations (Apex and tourism) over the years,” Brian said.

“Apart from some social tennis, walking, Saturday’s Parkrun and footy trainer involvement, we enjoy our family life and catching up with friends and watching footy.

“We love the Fleurieu region, and particularly the towns within the Alexandrina Council region.”
