Five women who have given many years of dedication were bestowed Life Membership at the recent Southern Argus 150th Strathalbyn Show by the Governor, Honourable Frances Adamson AC.
The Society thanked them for their valuable contributions over the years.
ROBYN VAN DOK: Robyn joined the committee in 2010 in the role of Secretary, bringing experience from Alice Springs Show and many other committees she had been involved in. Robyn continued tirelessly in this role for 10 years until 2020 and was always well-organised in this huge job.
KATHERINE STANLEY-MURRAY: Katherine first joined the Show in 2008 in the role of Secretary. In 2010, Katherine became a Vice President and in 2014, President. Katherine has also taken the role as MC on Show Day, and continued serving the Show on committee until 2020.
HELEN WRIGHT: Helen joined the Show in 2003 as Wool convener, and a year later she joined the show committee. Helen also took over the role of Sheep convener when it became vacant, and is currently still actively involved in these roles. Helen has also served as a Vice President.
DEBBIE WILLIS: Debbie first joined the Show in 2006 as Treasurer for several years and took a short break before returning to the role and continued as Treasurer until this year, and also stood as President in 2015. Debbie has also helped her daughter’s convening sections at the Show (her daughter Bree accepted her award on the day).
JENNY O’LOUGHLIN: Jenny joined the committee in 2008 and took on the role of Tradespace convener. Jenny continued tirelessly in this role until the current show, dedicating many hours of work to this huge role. (Absent on show day).
